What is paradise ?

I think to everyone, they have a different interpretation of what paradise is. To some, it’s relaxing at home with no one around. To others it’s laying on a beach in some place tropical.

I spend a lot of time talking about the differences of my sister and I. We all grew up in the same household, with the same parent trying to teach us the best they could.

It amazes me the difference between the two of us. I go to work each day and work hard to better myself, and provide the best life I can for my family. My sister on the other hand looks at me like I’m some booshey ass wanna be trying to be something I’m not. Each person lives their life to the extent they want too. I work because I want the finer things in life. My sister on the other hand feels that sitting at home, watching TV is paradise. Now that’s fine if that’s what you want for yourself. I guess it just bothers me that she’s so judgmental over me wanting to provide more than what we grew up with.

There’s a saying that we repeat history. I watched my mom scrape by with the bare minimum not doing anything to plan for her retirement or want more for her life or her kids. Then watching my sister do the exact same thing, and watching her daughter mirror her infuriates me. People need to make their own path. Not follow the easiest route. Too many people in this country do virtually nothing and expect everything. It’s our responsibility to work for the things we want and provide for ourselves, rather than standing there with our hands out begging for more of what we didn’t work for.
